duplicate item

alex m

Hello,

I wonder if it could be simple to duplicate an item.
Thus to add a copy of it whit an offset.
The existing tranformation tool  creates a  kind of ghost item, which cannot be
edited.

Hi,

It depends on which items you want to copy.
Let's say you want to copy a point, depending on its nature the
implication on the model is different:
 - coping a  free point in the plane is ok
 - coping a free point on a curve, what should be the result? Should the
curve be duplicated as well?

So coping may mean to extract a subtree of the model, up to the root
free items (items without parents), then coping this whole subtree.

To achieving coping, you can also use the macro construction. But I
guess you want something more direct.
