Initial Comment:
The only "obvious" way to label up a diagram appears to be to create points, then rename the point to put the text you want. This is not pretty, however, as you cannot hide the points without losing the text.

You want to be able to write text anywhere in a sketch, independently of the existing point or line?

Or should the text be attached to this point or this line.
